Fissidens fontanus mini

Fissidens fontanus mini is one of the favorite moss of Jalashay Aquascape. There are several types of fissidens moss but the mini verity looks great when it established in your aquascape. The tiny size and dense growth habit of this moss will attract algae quickly so, try to have good filtration system with good amount of filter media.

It can grow in low light setup but with too slow growth rate and could be covered with algae. This is the reason why we don’t suggest it in low-tech setup. You can have some ideas of how it look after growth by clicking here.

Growing tips:

People think that, fissidens fontanus mini is a very slow grower moss and it takes so many months to even establish but, the reality is not the same. This moss will cover the surface on which you tied it but you have to follow some basic tips.

First, you need to cover the desire surface densely, it will help to get final result quickly. Second, good lights. Fissiden fontanus mini like weeping moss, needs strong light to grow faster. Make sure that, this moss do not have shade over it within growing period. In other words, cut down stem plants which obstacle the light and create shades over this moss.

When it grows evenly, you can shade it but avoid too much shady area.
